… but the end signifies a new beginning of something new, something fresh, and something greater.
Every year is going to be eventful, no matter how big or small that may be. The number of graduation announcements coming up this month, others suspended1 or worse… there’s always an ending to everything. Good ending, bad ending, but an ending, nevertheless.
But endings are also the beginning too. It’s the beginning of something new, something fresh, and (maybe) something a lot bigger than what just ended. Does this make any sense?
Usually I write hype blog posts about what’s about to come and what’s happening with our boys and whatever activities they have. But today, here’s another serious (?) take of the current events as of this writing.
THE FINAL EPISODE OF STARS COLLECTION
I already shared the final episode of the Stars Collection YouTube anime series at the footer widget below. It’s quite a shock to a lot of us because it was just announced yesterday (my time anyway), rather than a few days ago. It really is! And yes, as expected, a lot of us from the Holostars-min community have reacted with signs of sadness and even some signs of anger. Even I admit now that I was quite heartbroken.
Never mind that I take screenshots of the series to make featured images of my blog posts simply because I can’t do character fan art. I’d like to ask fan artists if I could borrow their fan art just for the blog posts, however, I’m pretty sure other people would be doing the same thing for their own purposes too, and I would feel awkward using those same fan art just for this site alone.
However, I feel that a whole year’s worth of Stars Collection is more than enough for me to take screenshots for the blog posts… for the time being anyway.
On my Twitter timeline, I have seen a lot of reactions from my moots2 showing several types of reactions, like fans getting angry and blaming Cover/HoloPro for "not doing very well promoting" the boys, fans getting angry at fans who are blaming Cover/HoloPro for "not doing well promoting" the boys, fans crying, or shedding a few tears, showing their heartbreak for the ending of the anime…. this all happened while I was at work and because my mind was at work and just trying to survive work, I didn’t tweet anything about it.
Honestly, all these negativity isn’t going to change anything. There is no point on blaming and pointing fingers just because our special anime series had just ended. Instead, let’s "flip" these emotions and look forward to what’s to come instead.
I like to think backwards. Sure, Stars Collection may be over, but guess what— the boys are still here. Not only that the original 9 are still here, there are more of them now. In the anime, their outdoor concert wouldn’t be possible without the support of their fans who still follow them, and of course, these boys…
… and without their small successes and perseverance, we also have these boys too…
I am sad that Stars Collection has ended. I’m still unsure about their "replacement" to the series: a series of Friday shorts. The reason why I’m unsure, mainly because there wouldn’t be any multi-language subtitles like with Stars Collection. On the mobile version, there are Closed Captions, but on the desktop version… well…
So, thinking backwards, I feel that Cover/HoloPro is cooking something a lot bigger than Stars Collection — sipping some hopium here… and now that I think about it, the series ended just a week before UPROAR’s first anniversary. Next thing you know, this coming summer, TEMPUS will have ther first anniversary.
Thinking about it further, Stars Collection was primarily meant for G1-9. UPROAR had their chance on appearing on the series after their 3D debuts during the second half of the series. And then, on the New Year’s episode, TEMPUS HQ made their cameo too. I want to pray and hope that they are cooking a brand-new series that will fully involve UPROAR and TEMPUS. We may have another debut of another unit under Holostars, but because TEMPUS VG just debuted a few months ago, I kind of doubt it. Anyway, enough speculating.
Thank you, Stars Collection, for becoming the resource of my happiness and delight, and that I was able to get to know the JP side of Holostars a bit more. Thanks to the series, I now have 8 oshis total and 14 memberships to their channels too.
Introducing HOLOSTARS SHORTS
… or I think that’s what it’s called? Well, in place of Stars Collection, we get these shorts! Right after the final episode, we also get the first Holostar Short starring…
Who else? That dang silky smooth holoroid Rikka!
Of course, Rikka: the first member to get his 3D debut, the first to release his original song, and my first entry of this site also features him too.
For those who aren’t familiar with the term, GRWM stands for get ready with me — they’re just short clips of streamers, content creators, and… vtubers… getting ready to look good for the day. I mean, Rikka waking up, Rikka fixing his bedhead hair, and then… "Yeah! Let’s do our best together today!"3
Lastly, while I’m writing this very short blog, I’m also listening to Rikka’s utawaku4 stream. There’s just something about listening to the boys singing live after all.
This is it, really LOL. Yep, short blog, but I just want to let this small bit out. Now I can breathe.
See you all on the next post!
